Look and feel is always important for an application. Moving on to the new Microsoft standard, Card Exchange® introduces a new look and feel based on Office 2007, and introduces the ribbon interface to card printing applications starting from the Entry edition.

The new interface is setup as a skin; however, if you prefer to work with old the old skin, it is just a matter of selecting it.

The Card Exchange® interface continues to offer you the possibility to manage an unlimited number of card layouts. Every card layout can have it's own database connection(s), printer selection, etc. In combination with the introduction of card groups, we provide a more logical setup of the process, e.g., select the card-layout, select the cardholders name in the left column, take a picture and/or capture a signature, then print the currently selected card. Card Exchange® continues to offer you unlimited functionality to order and manage your card layouts which not only creates efficiency, but speeds up your card production.

Whether you are creating database connections configuring MIFARE® and/or DESFire®, or if you are using External Plug In's, you are still just a couple of clicks away of producing your card. Simplicity is our main goal!

Card Exchange® is available in four new editions; Designer, Entry, Premium, and Ultimate. The Ultimate is the full blown version of Card Exchange® which contains all available modules. When you do not need all the functionality from the Ultimate edition, the Premium edition offers you the ability to add each available module separately. The modules available include advanced database connections, contactless encoding, and automatic face recognition with Facefind®. Premium and Ultimate editions can be used in conjunction with the External Plug In's.

Card Exchange® Entry is the first edition that supports connections to a database. In the Entry edition you can easily connect to an MS Excel, or CSV file by using the user friendly database connection wizard. You can maintain your MS Excel file with Card Exchange® because you have an updatable connection with the file. This means you can use Card Exchange® to insert and update new records. Because MS Excel has no functionality to generate unique keys, the Entry version introduces the first unique number generator for MS Excel files.

In the Premium edition, you are also able to connect to an MS Access file. Card Exchange® Entry and Premium support all the Office formats, which include Office 2007 formats. In addition, Card Exchange® Premium supports the configuration of drop down boxes in your data edit window, and powerful storage items to store anything you want in the connected database(s).

This Premium edition can also be used in combination with our powerful database module. The database module allows you to make direct connections to database servers like; MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, DB2, and PostgreSQL. For other databases, this database module supports connections via ODBC. With the new powerful ODBC manager in this database module you are able to setup an ODBC connection in seconds.

Aside from the powerful database connections, this module also enables you to connect to unlimited database servers via our Multiple Database Server connection. This allows you to exchange information between all connected database(s) based on an embedded push and pull technology.
Last but not least, the database module supports Card Exchange® Auto Print Server, which offers you functionality to automate your print process by letting Card Exchange® monitor the connected database(s).

Card Exchange® offers the utmost functionality to search and filter data from connected databases. Within the Entry edition, it offers you a powerful search functionality in the auto filling name list. Just start typing the name and the name list will show the results directly.

Within the Premium version, Card Exchange® offers our advanced 3 level filter technology. With these 3 levels you can protect data that you don't want to show to the end user, configure filter buttons for database queries, and search live for data within the connected database.

This powerful and flexible filter technology ensures that Card Exchange® can provide configured conformity with your requirements in respect to the performance and protection of your data!

With the Card Exchange® Contactless module you have access to all the leading technology for contactless encoding. The contactless module supports the entire MIFARE® Classic range (1K, 4K, MAD 1 and MAD 2), including powerful functionality to search for free sectors on your MIFARE® card. Also MIFARE® DESFire is available with this module. It allows you to create applications and add files in a very easy and intuitive way. Reading and writing, or write only or read only, are all supported with this powerful module. The contactless module also includes read functionality for HID Proximity cards.

All this encoding functionality, in combination with our External Plug Inxs, offers unlimited possibilities. For example, you can create a read definition that reads the MIFARE® Classic or MIFARE® DESFire chip serial number, then the External Plug In calculates, based on the chip serial number, the new data. That data is then written back to the contactless card.

To make it easy to work with, with this module you only define items that needs to be read from or encoded to the contactless card.

In combination with portable, 128 bit encrypted definition files, your information is secured and can be reused for as many cards as you want.

With the Card Exchange® External Plug Inxs, we offer the most flexible and powerful platform for the implementation of client-specific logic. Any non-existing functionality or third party software development kits (SDK) can be embedded and can be called from Card Exchange®.

For example, a Payment application needs to be encoded in line with the print process and therefore we need to embed the SDK from the application supplier. By means of creating input and output variables for the External Plug In we can retrieve a chip serial number from a contactless card. After that, the 3rd party SDK generates the output and we can program this information back to the contactless card.
External Plug In's are very easy to implement and have no limitations to the type of functionality that can be incorporated in Card Exchange®.

The External Plug In's make sure that functionality is not limited to the highest software edition, and it enables you to enter project markets where standard solutions will limit your offering.
